Girls' Track Team Well Represented at District The 1983-84 Girls' Track team finished third in the District. There were outstanding performances from Stacey Haydell, who fin– ished 1st in the long jump with a jump of 16'3", and Meko Harris who placed second in the mile and 800-meter competition . Ta– bitha Irvin placed third in the long jump and Felisha Cushenberry placed third in discus. Also finishing third was the relay team, which consisted of: Tabitha Irvin, Marie Marcell, Tanya Moses, Pam Barrow, Kim Bailey, Brenda Bennet, Dianne Gearhart, and Sta– cey Courtney. During the regular season, the track team set many new school records. The following members contributed to the success of the team: Ester Sharper, Dana Johnson, Ashley Stewart, Tricia Delaune, Jenny Mayfield, Paulette Melancon, Cyndi Bishop, and Lori Powers.
