Track Completes Successful Season AMANT T Derek McKee flies over St. Amant's hurdles. The 1983-84 Varsity Track Team, led by Coach Glenn Bour– geois, had an exceptionally successful season. Seven new school records were set and three members were honored by qualifying for the District Tearn. The following members set new school records: Eddie Talbert-21.9, 200-meter run and 42.9 for the 400-meter relay; Jason Hill-142.9 for discus; Jerome Derricks 45-3¥2 for the triple jump; Andre Mars 13 feet pole vaulting; Clarence Jackson 6'2" high jump; Tim Thomp· son 51' shot put. The All District Team included Eddie Talbert for 100-meter, Andre Mars in pole vaulting, and Clarence Jackson in high jump. Eddie Talbert also received the Top Sprinter Award and Andre Mars was named Top Field Man. Top Distance runner went to Elphamous Dorsey, and Top Weight received by Jason Hill. The 1983-84 Coach award went to Tony Scott. The other team members who contributed to the success of the season were: Andre Glover, Steve McGill, Eric Landry, Tyrone Glover, Kyle Braud, Adrian Cushenberry, Fabian Cu– shenberry, James Lee, Andre Rogers, Kenny Walker, Mark Dearman, Derek McKee, Karey Burbank, Chris Whittington, Bryan Mackyon, Mike Rheams, William Sherrard. 128 Tyrone Glover moves ahead of competition. Andrew Glover flies over hurdles.
