Great Season for J.V. Lady Spartans The 1983-1984 J.V. Lady Spartans started the season off by defeating East St. John 23-20. E.A. was behind by one point at halftime but came back in the second half with 13 points and victory. However, Redemptorist and Ham– mond were ready for the Spartans, which caused E.A. two consecutive losses. Redemptorist finished off the Spartans 26-19, and Hammond ended the game with a score of 55-27. The Spartans came back with a 39-17 win over Capitol. The St. Amant vs. E.A. game was close throughout, with a half– time score 9-8. In the third quarter, E.A. scoring 8 points, was ahead, but St. Amant came back in the fourth quarter. They scored eleven points and ended the game 25-20. The Spartans ended their season with two wins. A second win over Capitol, 36-20, came before a re-match with St. Amant. The final game was a victory for E.A., 32- 23, over St. Amant. Kern Bailey led the J.V. Lady Spar– tans with a total of 55 points for the season, averaging 7.9 per game. Tricia Delaune finished with 42 points and an average of 5.9 to aid her team to a 4-3 season. 122 Tricia Delaune (34) makes her way through St. Amant's defense.
