FINISH WITH 6-4 SEASON post a 3-0 triumph. The Spartans' last home game of the season was a 17-0 shutout of the lstrouma Indians. The Spartans delighted the Homecoming crowd with sticky defense and precision of· fense. It was E.A.'s second shutout in two games and it set the stage for the last game of the season against the playoff– bound St. Amant Gators. The East Ascension Spartans ended their see-saw season with a wet 33-6 trouncing of the district runner-up Gators. Against the mighty Spartan defense, St. Amant produced minus(-) ten yards total offense and only one first down. The Spartan offense racked up 376 total yards on the sloppy turf. St. Amant scored on a blocked punt return for a touch– down in the first quarter but the Spartans' "7 diamond" defense dominated the rest of the game. The senior football players dedicated the game to the kids of the LeBlanc Spe– cial School. It was one of the biggest wins in E.A.'s 17-year history. The Spartans ended their season with a 6-4 record overall and a 4-3 district mark . 1983 Regular Season E.
