Cardinal Band Marches Through Another Year The Plainville Cardinal Marching Band was engaged in several activi- ties throughout the year. Under the direction of Mr. Robert Hiser, the eighty-two members concentrated more on marching than before. Hiser came to PHS after two years at Gorham. He did his student teaching at Plainville prior to that. The Band performed at home football games and entertained the spectators with the twirlers and flags. Basketball and Wrestling season kept the Band on their toes per- forming at home games, the MCL tourney at Hays, and preparing for a Winter Concert inbetween. Once again the Band members pulled themselves out of bed to meet the bus at 5:30·a.m. to go to the Hutchinson State Fair. They also performed downtown during Christmas time. Several students also participated in percussion ensembles 1 flute trio, tnunpet trios 1 and brass choir at the State Music Festival. The entire Band received a two rating on sight reading.
