Junior Varsity Ends Season With 10-4 Record 56 The Junior Varsity Squad, under the direction of Ron Schulte , had a very successful season. With an impressive ten wins and four losses, the young Cards gained experience and poise that should help them next year. Juniors Pat Hageman and Phil Gilliland were the leaders and both shold be on the starting squad for next season. Sophomore guards Craig Hamel and Troy Hemphill provided the team with good ball- handling. The team consisted of seven Sophomores and four Juniors. Five of these boys were also on the varsity squad. Some of them even played a considerable amount of time. The widest margin of victory for the team was a 53 to 17 wallop- ping of the young Logan round- bailers. A loss to Phillipsburg by a margin of 17 points was the big- gest defeat of the Cards. The oth- er three losses were only a matter of a couple of buckets. The Juniors moving up will add depth to the team. Sophomores on the team should continue to im- prove with the B-team next year and some will move to the varsity squad. Several Freshmen should move up to play junior varsity ball next year and keep up the winning ways of the B-team basketball.
