104 Vocal Music Dept. Doubles The Pleasure The town of Plainville was for- tunate to be presented with two nights filled of musical comedy, laughter 1 and a cast of talented actors and actresses when the Vo- cal Music Department performed their version of 1 1 lrene 1 1 on No- vember 17 and 18. Because of the two fine performances given 1 some characters doubled up on parts, which added to the enjoy- ment of the evenings. The musical itself was a comi- cal love story between a wealthy socialistic businessman and a middle-class Irish girl, whose temper not only kept the cast in- volved 1 but the audience as well. Much credit to the production of the play is given to the stage crew and Mrs. Sandra Risley 1 the di- rector. ABOVE: Donald finds trouble on Ninth Avenue as the gutter rats try to stop him from seeing Irene. BELOW LEFT: Steph Stewart and Brenda Hake thought the play was good even before it got started. BELOW: Ma- dame Lucy finds favor with the ladies as he entertains them with his songs and charm.
