Homecoming 1978 A Success Can you imagine one whole week filled with all the spirit and fire the students of PHS can con- jure up? lf you were here the week of October 3 through 7, then you know. It was Spirit Week, the only week you could wear your pants rolled up and show your era- riest socks; or pick a partner and dress up alike in fwmy costumes. Thursday night things really started rolling. The classes were let loose to decorate the halls. FFA and FHA working on floats. Then along about 8:00 they all closed shop and mosied on down to the bonfire. Randy Weigel, Darrel Sell, and Bob Plante talked on Pride, Heart and Spirit. The cheerleaders kept us rolling. When it was all over the students went to put the finishing touches on the halls. Homecoming arrived the next day. Fifth hour an assembly was held to introduce the candidates. Then a parade seventh hour gave us a chance to show our fire to the townspeople. The activities reached their peak Friday night. The candidates were introduced to the crowd . The lone Senior, Stacy Strouse 1 was then crowned queen by Senior captain Bob Plante. The Cards were handed a defeat in the game that followed. A new twist was lent to the Homecoming Dance this year, as it was held in the Knights of Co- lwnbus Hall. Illusions provided the music.
