Wai'anae High School 1981 Yearbook (Wai'anae, HI) - Guest Access

A Special Tribute To A Special Lady As the individual matures, his only window to the past lies on the memories built by the events of his growing years. As he looks back, the cheering at a high school football game or the quiet and serene atmosphere of the library lays a great impact on this search for the past. While in high school, we take for granted all events that will remain engraved in our memories. To maintain these memories, we have pictures, papers, magazines, and yearbooks that will serve as our window to the past and a guide for the future. These sources have been part of the high school for many years. These have served many students as reminders that life has often laid upon us few challenges that we, somehow, overcame. Oh Mrs. Tanaka, what will you do without Lyle next year? Mrs. Tanaka works diligently to improve Wai 'anae High's Journalism programs. Wai 'anae High School has been, for the past six years, fortunate to have a diligent and dedicated advisor for the Journalism classes which includes the high school Ke Ahe Kai, lmua I Ke Kumu, and Ka Leo 0 Waianae. These classes have served the school a great deal. But these classes would not have been successful if it were not for the strength and endurance of a caring person, Mrs. Faye Tanaka. She has displayed these characteristics with great pride which made each class successful in maintaining its prosperity. Mrs. Faye Tanaka has done all and more. Not only is she a successful advisor for the publications classes, she also involved herself in other extra-curricular activities. She serves as the advisor for the Interact Club and for the entire Junior class of 1982. She has displayed her role as a teacher and advisor with sincerity and undying love. With her work she has exemplified perfection and magnificence. The students of Wai'anae High School have admired Mrs. Tanaka for many years, not only because of her teaching techniques, but also her unique relationship with her students.
