HE'~ ALN0~1' ALWAY~ IN A HUHHY- Nil DARn CU1'1'Eil Mr. Cutter refers to himself occasionally as "The Claw" and to the majority of us, everytime we see him he is in a great hun'lf. A reason for his hurr'iting is to redo the stage baclcdrop, adjust the sound leve of the microphones, or to find and correct flaws in the scenery which might injure the quality of a production. Whenever Fresno High presents an assembly, rally, or play, Mr. Cutter will always be seen guiding over the work of his student stage crew and making last minute decisions in order to make everything come off as well as possible. The hours which he spends after school and during rehearsals sometimes make him irritable, but as soon as the show is over and his nerves for the time being set at ease, he resumes his usual satirical and high-spirited nature. In his English classes, Mr. Cutter stresses student self expression and believes that everyone can write and learn if given the chance to create as they wish. For the last two years, the highlight of Fresno High's summer session has been the performances presented by his drama classes; thgy are always imaginative and laden with possibilities for students to demonstrate their individual talents. In addition to his duties as a teacher, he has made additions to the stage area and otherwise improved the condition of the drama room by installing drapes and curtains. This work he did on his own time during the summer, right down to the sewing of the velvet drapes; a great example of his contributions to the student body, both through his English classes and through his stage work. With these things in mind, we dedicate the 1967 Owl to Mr. Daryl Cutter; and hope that by seeing what one teacher has done, we will all greater appreciate what Fresno High's teachers as a whole have done to further our education.
