And the King, who had his couriers assembled before him at nightfall, said unto them, "Bring to me the wisest man in my kingdom so that I may pay homage to him." Having received the orders, the messengers set forth on their quest which was to endure many months. The first days went by swiftly but then turned into long arduous periods of time. On the eleventh month a messenger presented to the King a young student who was accompanied by a tall, educated man in his late years. "Is this he?" asked the King. He was answered in the affirmative. Seeing the man, the ruler asked who he was. And the student answered, "This is my educator." And so to Mr. Carl J. Schreiter this 1956-1957 Caduceus is respectfully dedicated. • d e d • 1 c a t • 1 0 n Mr. Schreiter has spent many long years as the educator of the citizens of tomorrow, and yet, he remains a student of knowledge himself. He has completed an extensive study of German and in 1959, accompanied by Mrs. Schreiter, plans to live in Germany, in the rural areas, in order that he may achieve a life-time goal. Mr. and Mrs. Schreiter have found many hours of pleasure in the High Sierras where they spend most of their vacations. Their home on Vallombrosa was the first stabilized adobe house in Chico and has been the attraction of many visitors to this city. Mr. Schreiter, Past President of the Toast Masters Club, excels in public speaking and has received many awards for his outstanding ability. He is a Past President of the Chico Lion's Luncheon Club, and is also a member of Chico Lodge, F. & A.M. None can doubt that Mr. Schreiter has truly been a friend to all those who have passed through the portals of Chico Senior High.
