Her sweet personality has made many swell friends for her in the past four yean:, and she will probably keep right on making friends, wherever she may go in the future. MARGARET ANDEM A quiet shy blonde is another four-year girl who will really make something of herself some day. The students and faculty alike will miss her big blue eyes, golden hair, and snappy answers in the clm:sroom. DWAYNE ARMSTRONG Dwayne is known for his glowing smile and his conge· nial personality. In the last four years he has made many friends, and when he leaves ior the service he will surely be missed by all. JO ANN ARMSTRONG The long red hair and the winning look in the eyes of Jo Ann Armctrong are definite assets to the renior class. Jo Ann, who always pops up with a friendly "Hi," has her heart set on becoming a secre· tary some day ... We have an idea that it is also !:'61 on a certain G. I. BARBARA ARNOLD Barbara Arnold is another vf our intellectuals who will be missed in the shining glory of Burlingame's classrooms. We have always noticed her shy blush and her clever re· marks, which ctand out during class sessions. 10 R s DON ASHE D' •n is m re on the qu1et side, but don t ever get it mto your head that he doesn't know what's going on. He's known for his swell sen1:e of humor and is 1i ed by every· one. He will be missed by many. DOROTHY BARRET! D r thy Barrell known to her hvst vf friends as just "Dot," has a sweet and charm ing personality which every· one so admiringly enjoys. Dol will oottle for becoming an air line hostess, a JOb that seems to be especially suited to her. ALFRED BALCH AI, as he is kn •wn to his friends, is nul lvv well known about school. This is no doubt due to the fact that he i~ an· other of our "three-year-men." Good luck to you, AI. TED BEKINS Ted is a g Ki addition to any crowd, with h1s witty personality and his sense of hu· mor. He's a great friend to all and will certainly be missed by many. DOLLY BRANDT She never foils to pop up with a friendly grt~eting. Dolly Brandt, who excels in many school activities, leaves a vacancy in the halls that will be ncticed by her host of pols. JAMES BRAY 'The Pr·,fessor" has one of thus scientific mind~ which so few people ore gifted with. We ore quite sure that in future years we will be reading his nome in great books of sci· ence. After the war James plans to attend Stanford, where he will become on astrophysicist. IDA BROWN A sparkling smile and shin mg brown eye~ seem to be the usual twosome that accompany Ida's friendly "Hello." She's the type of girl that kids just love to know, and with her wonderful personality we know she'll go places in life. E '4 5 JANET BRYANT Athieti• ute and vivacious that is Janet Bryant. Yes, Janet is one of our few G. P. A. L. holders, the result of four faithful year~ in after school sports. What a vacancy she w1ll cause! BARBARA BURNETT The bl >nd• highlights of Borboro Burnett hove been so sot in our campus lives that our halls will certainly seem deserted without her not only to the gals, but to mole ad· mirers also. BILL BURTON Toll bJ, .nde and good-look ing, Bi!. ~ms to be the new thrill around Burlingame. AI· though he did not come to Bur lingome until late in his high school life, he has to his credit many friends. MARGE BURTON Here is a vivacious, dy· namic, and espociolly likable personality all pocked into one little girl. It is Marge Burton, our A. G. S. prexy. Whoever is lucky enough to be one of Marge's many friends will agree that her friendly smile prevails everywhere. B£VERLY CAMGROS B v the gal wh when rummer rul.s around, always seems to outdo everyone in acquiring the most beautiful ton, is one person whose boundless energy and wit make her personality not eos· ily forgo ten by her class· mates.
s E N DOUG CAMPBELL Doug, one of our most quiet and reserved clm:smates, will surely keep right on with his outstanding work. His shy glance, which covers a mischievous twinkle, has always kept us in the dark. However, it's one of his best a!:Sets. GRAN CAMPBELL 'Happy-go-lucky' is a litling definition for Gran, who never seems to worry or to get upset about anything or any· one. Tall and handsome, he really keeps the Burlingame gals in a daze as they wonder whom he is going to date next??? BOB CANNON Whenever outdoor sports are in progres!:, you can count on Bob to be there and usually right in the center of the action. Sports have been Bob's main interest these last four years. ED CAVANAUGH Ed is that tall, dark, good looking fellow whom you see roaming up and down the halls looking for a certain little gal whom he just can't seem to get out of his mind. Like many others, Ed plan!: to enter the service after graduation. Good luck! NANCY CEASER None ·y was San Mateo's loss and our gain the year she signed her name in the records of Burlingame High. Although she has been with us only three years, she has really got into the center of !:Chool affairs and by her magnetic personality has earned many friends. 0 R s JOAN CLAY Joan didn't come to Burlingame until her sophomore year. but that didn't seem to make any difference in her progress in making loads of friends. Besides being a good socialite, she has also been very active in the A. G. S. Ye!:, Joan, you are what one might term a '"darn good head.'" BERYL CLINE B ryl will always be remem· bt:red for her sweet disposition and her shining brown eyes. Although she is a little on the quiet side, she really has that certain something that is needed in making lots oi friPnds. LOIS CONSTANT! Loi!: is well known for her remarkable writing ability on the Blingum Banter and the Burlingame '"B.'" Of course, she has other talents also. one of which is quite outstanding - her ability to keep a certain !ella from down Bellarmine way in a continual whirl. The guys from Burlingame really lost out on this gall JOHN CONWAY John is the quite, bashful typ.,, who just won't give the qirls a tumble. He served a!: vice-president of the senior class and has really made a fine officer. He's a typical "good head," and we all seem to agree that our class just wouldn't be complete without him. MARIFRAN COOK A sparkling smile and quick wit are Marifran's attribute!:. A gal of many moods, her complex personality has kept many people wondering. She is loved by everyone, and her popularity is shown by the many friends (both genders) she has to her credit. "Vivid" is the only adjective we can find to describe you, Marlfran.
