Within this book's three hundred and sixty pages, we hope you find photographs that make you smile, facts that surprise you, interviews you will re-read, and memories you will want to keep. When we realized we were the editors for the 100th volume of Panther Tracks, we recognized the huge responsibility that was in our hands. We carefully selected the theme, colors, font, design, and layout to capture both the past 100 years and the past 18 days. We feel honored to have had the opportunity to create a piece of history. We hope that you see how special BHS was and still is today. We feel so much gratitude to Ms. Riley who has encouraged and mentored us over the years. We would also like to thank the entire yearbook staff for rallying behind the book and its completion. Lastly we would like to thank Shelly Townsend, our yearbook representative, for guiding us through the transition to the Friesens Yearbooks Company and assisting us with this project. Thank you to the many classmates that helped us identify students and maintain accurate captions. Your FaceTimes, text threads, and conversations in the hallway built the book you're holding now. We're leaving Publications in the capable hands of Irene Chen and the yearbook leadership. After a few years together-and more than a few late-night cram sessionswe're sad to leave room A105 but undoubtedly know that another excellent century of Panther Tracks lies ahead. • em Twice a day, at some magical hour, the sky casts a soft yellow glow. It's the golden hour, around dawn and dusk, when one day is ending or a new one is beginning. As our school celebrates its hundredth year, one era is ending and a new one is starting. Our first JIBiingum" class graduated in 1923 with a student body of just 350. Today, Burlingame High boasts four times the enrollment, additions including the C-Building and F-Building, 30 electives, and 79 certified teachers. Burlingame High School yearbooks have chronicled student life during a world war, nuclear bomb drills, the invention of the Internet, and the coronavirus pandemic. This year saw the revival of old traditions and the creation of new ones. The band returned to play in Disneyland. We declared victory in the Little Big Game for the thirteenth consecutive year. We kicked off the Panther Bowl and the World Cup, soon to be annual intramural events. Our yearbook team captured school events, dug through yearbook archives, installed lnDesign, interviewed students, reinstalled lnDesign, and contacted alumni to create the book that is in your hands. We hope you enjoy reading it as much as we enjoyed making it. And now, it's that time again... the golden hour. Opening 005
